Safety and trust on StringDrop

Every stringer is reviewed before appearing in search. Here is how we protect both sides of every booking.

Safety features

Location privacy

  • Search results show a stringer's approximate area and rounded distance — never their exact home address.
  • Full handover instructions, including any private addresses, are only shown to the two participants of an accepted booking. No other user can see them.
  • Stringer profiles remain geographically useful while protecting residential privacy.

Secure handovers with 6-digit codes

  • When you drop off or collect your racket in person, a one-time 6-digit code confirms the handover between you and the stringer.
  • The code is unique to each handover direction. A manual entry option is always available if scanning is not possible.
  • Both sides get a timestamped record of the handover.

Condition photos

  • Before any work begins, the stringer is required to photograph the front and back of your racket and record any visible existing damage.
  • If a pre-existing issue is found, stringing is paused, you are notified with photos and you decide whether to continue, adjust the job or request a cancellation review.
  • You can also optionally upload your own pre-drop photos for high-value rackets.

Verified reviews only

  • Only the player from a completed booking can leave a review for that stringer. There is no way to write a review without completing a real job.
  • This means every rating you see reflects genuine experience.
  • Review content is subject to moderation and stringer profiles show the number of verified completed jobs alongside any rating.

Payment protection

  • Your payment is authorised when you submit a booking request — nothing is charged at that point.
  • Payment is captured when the stringer accepts. It is then held securely and released to the stringer only after you confirm your racket has been returned in good order.
  • If a stringer does not respond within 12 hours, your authorisation is cancelled in full.
  • For disputes, we can hold a transfer while we review the evidence. StringDrop never holds your card details — all payments are processed through Stripe.

Reporting and support

  • You can report a message, a booking problem or a safety concern at any time through the booking detail page.
  • Safety reports can be made independently of any financial dispute and may immediately restrict further contact.

How stringers are reviewed

Every stringer who applies to join StringDrop goes through a review process before appearing in search results or accepting bookings.

During onboarding, stringers provide information about their machine, experience, sports they support and the area they cover. Our team reviews each application and may request additional information or evidence.

Only approved and currently open stringers are shown to players searching for a restring. A stringer who is suspended, paused or pending review is not visible.

We do not guarantee any specific qualification level for all stringers on the platform — profiles make each stringer's experience and machine clear so you can make an informed choice.
