How StringDrop works
From finding a local stringer to collecting your restrung racket — here is the full journey, step by step.
Find a stringerThe booking journey
Find a local stringer
Search by postcode and sport to see nearby verified stringers. Browse profiles, read verified reviews from completed bookings and check typical turnaround times before committing.
Book with your exact setup
Choose your string (or bring your own), set your tension and add any specific notes. Select a handover method and timing that suits you — club drop, home collection or a nearby meet.
Secure drop-off with a 6-digit code
You receive a one-time code when your booking is accepted. Use it to confirm the handover in person. The stringer photographs your racket's condition before any work begins, so both sides have a clear record.
Track your progress
See your booking move through each stage: racket received, in progress, ready for collection. You get a notification when your racket is ready.
Payment released on completion
Your payment is authorised when you book and held securely until you confirm you have your racket back. The stringer receives their earnings only once the job is complete. This means neither side is left exposed.
Rate and save your setup
Leave a verified review — only players who have completed a booking can review a stringer. Save your string, tension and notes so your next booking takes seconds.
Payment held until completion
Your payment is authorised at booking and released to the stringer only after you confirm your racket has been returned in good order. Neither side is left out of pocket — the record is always there.
Sports covered
Tennis
From club players to competitors, stringers can handle monofilament, multifilament, polyester and natural gut at any tension.
Badminton
High-tension badminton stringing demands a machine capable of the range and a stringer who knows the sport — stringer profiles make both clear.
Squash
Squash strings take significant punishment. Find stringers experienced with the sport who can advise on durability and feel.
Common questions
- Your card is authorised when you submit a booking request — nothing is charged at that point. The payment is captured (taken) only when the stringer accepts your request. It is then held securely and released to the stringer after you confirm you have received your restrung racket.
- Yes. Many stringers offer a Bring Your Own String (BYOS) service — a labour-only price for when you already have the string you want. Check the stringer's profile to confirm they offer BYOS and whether there are any conditions.
- Turnaround varies by stringer and is shown clearly on each profile. Many local stringers can complete a restring within one to three days. If you have a deadline, filter by turnaround time when searching.
- You can cancel before the stringer has accepted your request and your authorisation will be released. After acceptance, the cancellation terms shown at checkout apply. We aim to keep things fair for both sides.
- Booking requests expire after 12 hours if the stringer does not respond. You are notified, your authorisation is released in full and you can search for another stringer.
- The stringer photographs your racket before and after stringing. If any existing damage is found, work is paused and you are notified with photos before stringing continues. If a problem arises after completion, you can report it through the booking and our team will review the evidence.
